Assalam. Astaghfirullah!!! Don’t go to GPU!!!!!! Fitnah, Fitnah, Fitnah!!! Bad idea! Why you want to perform there? Now you want to go were GIRLS are!!!! Yuck, Yuck!!
October 18th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Where there is bad go and do good!
October 19th, 2008 at 8:57 am
I hate the GPU, ive seen and heard stuff that goes and happens there. You know in the eid in the square it was bad enough but what about GPU, its bigger fitna. Avoid places like that as there are music and free mixing.
You should go into a pub and start preaching Islam why dont you?
October 19th, 2008 at 9:24 am
where there is bad do good indeed by another poster - yeh GPU is full of rubbish etc but having groups like labbayk and kamal uddin perform there inshallah it may bring back some sanity into people and may get them to change perception of all this “so called musical group”
im glad you are performing there despite it being a fitnafied event Inshallah maybe this could be a start of restoring back some sanity back..
your comment about “you want to go where girls are” is just stupid it dont make sense - there are girls everywhere shopping, at work, college, university etc so you trying to say you dont go to places like that?

I think these brothers are doing a great job! We need more non-instrumental anasheed out there, they are becoming rarer by the day. I personally don’t like GPU, but then again there are lots of good in it as well, like the speeches, qur’an recitations, etc, etc.
October 19th, 2008 at 10:40 am
I personally hate GPU, but I know the brothers of Labbayk dont do things without scholarly guidance first. Support these brothers without criticising them. May Allah rewrad their intentions. Amin

Assalamu alaykum
Jazakallah for your comments, ill just try and clear up a few things for those doubting
Yes the GPU can be “Questionable” i wont go into all that, however why are labbayk performing at GPU for?
- Islam Channel specifically asked us to perform on the second stage for the GPU since they liked what labbayk has to offer alhumdulillah.
Labbayk are not the group that are after Fame or any of this “pop star” status, and inshallah we wont elevate to that level!
Labbayk are now the very minor or even one out of a couple of “Non musical” group that are in the “‘Nasheed’ industry” so we are representing the non musical group in this sense and trying to get the message across into telling people that “non musical” nasheeds is whatever one wants. Not all this nonsense pop musical stuff!
They are not after fame, star status or anything like that - the intention is alhumdulillah good and the nasheed they sing is not just anything - it relates to Islam and Praising allah and the prophet (s.a.w) this is what true nasheeds are about!
October 19th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Because there is not a need to go into the pubs and preach islam, however in the GPU there is a big opportunity to find over 60,000 muslims in one instant and give them dawah. our own brothers are more in need at this moment, when they are fixed we will go pub together
inshaAllah.
Also can we ask everyone else that comes across this page please not more hateful comments the brothers are in need of your duas and support, but if you still have bad things to say feel free to do so, but know there are big scholars backing the brothers up.
jazakAllah for reading

Assalamu alaykum,
Inshallah you are all well
I saw Brother Ehsan perform some nahseeds on Ch.S during the Ramadan fund raising, I also saw all of you perform live at the Eid in the Square celebration AND I have now, just finished listening to your CD…
Brothers what can I say?
Wow, MASHALLAH, you guys are truly gifted with beautiful voices, I loved all of your songs AND they had no music hurraahhhhh!!! Jazzak-Allah Khair, please know that this it’s very much appreciated by so many of us out there (your brothers and sisters in islam).
I especially loved the lyrics to your song ‘Ask Him’…I found it very uplifting and encouraging, definitely a nasheed I will listen to when I’m feeling alone and am having a very blue day.
Inshallah, I look forward to seeing you perform at the GPU…good luck! I am also already, patiently looking forward to your furure albums inshallah (even though you just released this one!!).
May allah grant you all success and happiness in what you do and accept the work that you are doing for our umma (which is spreading the word). Ameen.
Wishing you all the best,
Wasalam
P.S
Inshallah for the future, please, please write and perform a song about parents if possible (no pressure hay!)…I no longer have mine but when I listen to nasheeds written about mothers and/or fathers, it kinda fills that void and makes me feel whole again…the only thing is there are not many out there that are without music or in a language that I understand – English!
